Why SWYAA is important?

The Ship for World Youth (SWY) program, operated by Cabinet Office, Government of Japan, is a program that involves youths from Japan and countries around the world. The participants study and discuss common issues from a global perspective and participate in various activities that involve multi-cultural and multi-national exchange opportunities to cultive international awareness and leadership. The program runs for over one month onshore and onboard the ship.

Multi-cultural

SWYAA fosters deep cultural understanding through shared experiences across borders.
Participants engage in dialogue, cultural exchange, and mutual learning, forming friendships that transcend nationality, religion, and language

Social Contribution

SWYAA are committed to giving back to their communities. From educational initiatives like global mentoring to environmental initiatives like tree planting (SWY forest), we empower youth to become active agents of change.

Life-long Connection

SWY is not just a program — it’s a lifelong journey. Through the SWYAA and annual Global Assemblies (GA) held around the world, alumni continue to connect, collaborate, and inspire each other across generations and borders.
